Spring 2023 State and MAP Testing
Dear Parents,
In April, our students in grades 3 - 11 will again be participating in the state of Ohio testing program. With the exception of 3rd grade, all tests will be administered online.
As parents, you play an important role in helping students achieve the best results on these tests. Our teachers are working hard to prepare and reinforce the skills necessary for students to demonstrate their learning. They are not only working on content, but also teaching students how to navigate the online testing site.
There are many things you can do to help set up your student for success.
Discuss the materials in this letter with your student. Encourage full participation in class practice and discussion of these tests.
Use the online practice tests at home to familiarize your student with the content and the tools needed to navigate the test.
To access these tests:Choose “Practice Tests”
Choose “Take a Practice Test”
From there, you can choose your child’s grade level and subject area test for practice
See that your student arrives to school on time on test days. Any student arriving after the start of the test will not be permitted to enter the classroom until the test session is over.
Permit absences only for the most significant reasons. Make-up sessions are required and will results in students missing their regularly scheduled classes.
Make sure your student has a good night’s sleep and a proper breakfast each testing days.
Below is a link to the Testing Schedule and additional information specific to your child’s grade level.
As always, if you have any questions concerning state testing, please contact me. I am happy to help!
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child’s education.
Sincerely,
Alicia Kidder, Dean of Pupil Services
