Devotions - SPEAK TO OTHERS

“Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” HEBREWS 3:12–13

Thorn, Joe. Note to Self (Foreword by Sam Storms) (p. 85). Crossway. Kindle Edition.

Reflections:

  • Are you connected? What is it in your life that would cause others to not connect with you? Do you demonstrate attitudes, behaviors, or “signals” that you send to others to “keep their distance”?

  • Are you speaking? What causes you hesitation to speak into someone’s life? Dislike for conflict? Fear of failing or rejection? Lack of concern? Write down a few possibilities.

  • Who needs to hear from you? Write down one or two people who have been on your heart. Pray for them and pray about having a deep conversation with them to explore what the Lord might be saying through you.
