Dear ECA Families,
Teachers and staff are back in the building today preparing for the return of our students on Wednesday, January 5th. We are truly excited to watch our students come back through the doors!
There has been much discussion about the best way to come back to school, but the priority is to keep our students in the building as much as possible and to save the remote option for only when absolutely necessary. One of the ways we can do this is to return to school with universal masking. We are requiring all students and staff to mask through the end of the this week and then we will evaluate from there. Masking has been suggested by our local Health Department, the ODH and the CDC plus the big spike of all kinds of illnesses right now, presents itself as the best measure for returning this week.
Our biggest challenge, just like many other school districts, is staffing. Several of our substitute teachers have found other full-time jobs and therefore we are looking for additional substitute teachers. If you know anyone who might be interested, please have them contact Dan Moore (dmoore@ecaoh.com).
Our model for the elementary will be to continue in our building only go remote BY CLASS if needed. For our secondary, we will strive to keep our students in the building and use available resources if we have a teacher missing. We will follow our clinic policies as well as the most current Covid protocols that were sent via email by our school nurse today.
INCLEMENT WEATHER REMINDER
Please remember that cancellations and delays for inclement weather are provided through “One Call” and WHIO, as well as ECA Facebook. Remote learning will only be used if multiple calamity days have been utilized and will be “pre-announced” for the next cancellation. Please let the office know if you have changed numbers or need to have a number added to our “One Call” system.
Finally, as we begin this second semester, please cover the school with prayers as we continue to pursue our mission for our students and families.
We appreciate you and your family, It is a great privilege to partner with you.
