Dear Emmanuel Family,
Can you believe that we only have five weeks left of school? We are excited to be planning our awards ceremonies, graduations, field days and all of the end of year activities that we missed out on last year.
As we continue to move forward and make adjustments to our Covid-19 protocols, we want to continue to be careful and mindful of all of our students and employees. At this moment, the only change we will be making is in regard to temperature checks.
Temperature checks have been a part of our morning routine since the beginning of the school year. Starting Monday, daily temperature checks on every student will no longer be conducted as a part of our schedule. CDC recommendations are as follows:
Based on the best available evidence at this time:
CDC does not currently recommend schools conduct symptom screening for all students in grades K-12 on a routine (e.g., daily) basis.
Parents, caregivers, or guardians should be strongly encouraged to monitor their children for symptoms of infectious illness every day through home-based symptom screening.
Students who are sick should not attend school in-person.

Parents are expected to screen their child(ren) every morning prior to school. Please see the Daily Health Assessment linked below (this was sent home towards the beginning of the school year) and follow the requirements and recommendations on when to stay home.

We ask that you remain diligent in your efforts as this school year is coming to an end. No other changes have been made in regards to our COVID-19 protocols at the present time.
On another note, remember to use the previously sent Dating and Sexuality Parent Conversation Guides over the weekend. Our last session on these topics was today at 2PM. The Culture Engagements are a part of our strategy to promote critical conversations between parents and their children. Many good things happen here at Emmanuel, but a student engagement ultimately reaches its goal when parents and students have deep conversations on culturally relevant topics.
Have a great weekend!
Blessings,
