Matthew 17:20, “And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.

Part 2 – Discussion: (18 minutes)
It’s not the amount of faith we have, but rather what our faith is in. Jesus invites us into having faith in his power and his work on the cross, not in our own striving and effort. We will all experience seasons where we feel doubt in our faith and faith in our doubt. Remember that sometimes the moments of the deepest doubt can lead to moments of soaring faith.
Can you think of a moment where you had a lot of doubt, but stepped out in faith anyway? Share the story!
Do you find it reassuring that our faith is in Jesus, and not in ourselves? Why do you think God would design salvation this way?
Why do you think it’s so easy to fall out of trusting Jesus and back into trusting ourselves? What are some ways you can remain in a space of trusting Jesus and not your own efforts?
Read Matthew 17:20. As you probably know, a mustard seed is a very small seed. Where in your life do you need a “mustard seed of faith?”
Each person is to share where faith is needed to cover an area of doubt.
