Devotions - THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has looked favorably upon his people and redeemed them. Luke 1:68

Reflections:

  1. Read, either now or later, Luke 1:5-25 & 67-80. Slow down and focus upon the often-overlooked verses.

  2. What do you suppose were Zechariah’s central thoughts throughout his speechless time?

    a.     Sorrow for questioning God?

    b.     A continuation of disbelief?

    c.     Anticipation of his son’s birth?

    d.     The mystery of how his son would proclaim the messiah?

    e.     What do people think of me?

    f.      I have something to say, who hid my tablet?

  3. Are there biblical promises that you are struggling to believe or hear? If so, can you name one?

  4. Do you have a prayer request that has been lifted up 1000’s of times? Maybe you even stopped praying for it. Yet the need is still there.

    a.     Will you be courageous one more time, and lift that need up to God this morning?
