This month, your child will be taking the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. These assessments measure your child’s instructional level and academic growth in the areas of Mathematics, Reading and Language Usage. The data from these assessments help your child’s teacher(s) ensure they are meeting your child’s academic needs. Below you will find the testing schedule.
ELEMENTARY TESTING SCHEDULE
Tuesday, September 13: Reading
Thursday, September 15: Math
Friday, September 16: Language Usage (2nd - 6th Grade)
Makeups: Week of September 19th
JUNIOR HIGH/HIGH SCHOOL TESTING SCHEDULE
Tuesday, September 13: Reading
Thursday, September 15: Math
Friday, September 16: Language Usage
Makeups: Schedule as needed
*Any student who does not finish his/her test during the scheduled class time will have the opportunity to complete it during the makeup time.
**Juniors, Seniors, and Homeschooled students do not take the MAP assessment.
Juniors, Seniors and Homeschooled students will report as follows:
Tuesday, September 13th: Juniors will take the practice ACT (report at 8:00AM); Seniors, and Homeschool students (except ECAI students) report at 10:00AM.
Thursday, September 15th: All Juniors, Seniors and Homeschool students (except ECAI students) report to school at 10:00AM
Friday, September 16th: Juniors and Homeschool students (except ECAI students) report to school at 10:00AM; Seniors, be on standby for Gala Setup from 8:00AM - 10:00AM. If Seniors are needed, this will be communicated closer to Friday.
***AS 120 and AS 237 will follow their normal schedule with class beginning at 8:00AM. (See separate email for additional information).
HOW CAN YOU HELP ON TEST DAYS?
Pray with your child
Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast
Make sure your child arrives at school on time.
Remind your child that his/her best is good enough!
